GAROWE, Somalia, November 7, 2015 (Garowe Online)-Puntland Information Minister Mohamud Hassan So’adde has raised eyebrows with few and far between remarks regarding self-declared Khaatumo administration as bureaucratic weaknesses surface, Garowe Online reports.

Speaking with UK-based TV station, Somali Channel, So’adde said that he still favors Khaatumo for kinship reasons, further pledging that he would take up gun if it was mired into conflict.

“I used to support Khaatumo, and now I stand by [Khaatumo],” the controversial Minister noted.

He boasted that Puntland President, Abdiweli Mohamed Ali’s administration achieved success in economic infrastructure, and launched flagship projects including Bossaso airport runway construction.

The comments sparked off debate, with political analysts pointing to the failures besetting Puntland presidency.

Khaatumo was carved out of Puntland and Somaliland by former Federal Member of Parliament, Ali Khalif Galaydh.
