Somalia: Roadside bomb attack kills three Puntland soldiers in Galgala

GALGALA, Somalia Dec 12, 2014 (Garowe Online)-Roadside remote-controlled improvised Explosive Device (IED) hit a troop transport vehicle, killing three Puntland government soldiers and wounding four others according to credible sources on Friday, Garowe Online reports.

The IED was planted along an access road leading to the rugged terrain of Galgala from the Gulf of Aden port city of Bossaso, security sources disclosed.The wounded are being treated at Bossaso General hospital.

Puntland government officials have yet to address the media on the fatalities from the roadside bomb blast.

Regional forces have battled Al Qaeda linked Al Shabaab militants in sporadic clashes on hideouts along Golis Mountain ranges and in the agriculture-rich village of Galgala.

Al Shabaab fighters are believed to have migrated northwards towards Puntland following intense military campaign in central and southern Somalia.
