Janan arrives in Mogadishu after his surrender to Somalia's Govt
MOGADISHU, Somalia - Former Jubaland Security Minister Abdirashid Janan arrived in Mogadishu on Thursday afternoon a day after he surrendered to the government in Beled-Hawo town of Gedo region.
The wanted minister was abroad a private jet flew from Dolow on the Somalia-Kenya border along with state minister for transport Abdirahman Dhere and deputy information minister Abdirahman Al-Adala.
He was sacked by Jubaland President Ahmed Madobe on the eve of his defection is facing serious crimes he committed in Gedo with amnesty international calling on the government to ensure justice and arraign him in court.
Janan is scheduled to meet with the outgoing Somali President at the Presidential Palace, before flying to Turkey, according to reliable sources.
NISA head Fahad Yasin has worked on the defection of Janan, who was a key official in Jubaland state since he was in charge of the battle in Gedo against SNA forces.
Yasin has held a secret meeting with Janan in Dolow town to sign a deal before both left for the capital on Thursday.
