Somalia: 7 killed, 20 injured in two-car collision near Mogadishu

MOGADISHU, Somalia, March 17, 2015 (Garowe Online)-At least 7 people have been confirmed dead and 20 others sustained injuries after Nissan Homy and lorry collided on a road that runs between Hawo Abdi and Lafole on Tuesday morning, Garowe Online reports.

The fatal two-car collision which took place on the outskirts of Mogadishu came after the speedy minivan and the heavy truck struck each other.

Almost all front-seat passengers in the homy were pronounced dead at the scene while the wounded people are being treated at Mogadishu’s Madina hospital.

The accident appears to be the deadliest to be reported in months. Some of the passengers are in critical condition according to medics.

Safety of roads in south-central regions deteriorated sharply over the last two decades of chaos.
