​Somalia: Former lawmaker dies of heart attack in Mogadishu

MOGADISHU, Somalia- A former Somali lawmaker Ali Omar Nor has on Saturday died of heart attack in the Somali capital of Mogadishu, Garowe Online reports.

Late Nor who served as lawmaker in the 9th Federal Parliament passed away at Aden Adde International Airport, while on way to Nairobi for medical treatment, according to his colleagues and relatives.

Confirming the report, the deputy director of Mogadishu Airport, Abdirahman Awale said the MP suffered a sudden heart attack and collapsed in the airplane shortly before it take off from the Airport.

The body of the former Parliamentarian was removed from the Airport to his residence and expected to be buried in state burial in Mogadishu in the coming hours.

The leadership of the current serving Parliament including fellow lawmakers sent heartfelt condolences to the grieving family and public for the loss of well-known MP.
