Somalia:Gunmen attack beachfront hotel in Mogadishu

MUQDISHU- Fighters from the Al-Qaeda linked militant group in Somalia attached a beachside restaurant in the Somali capital, with attackers detonated a car bomb outside followed by gunmen who blasted their way into the restaurant,police said.

Police officials told Garowe Online that the attack on Liido Seafood started as diners gathered near the beach as gunmen opened fire on the crowd before taking dozens of people hostage.

Security fighting are reportedly fighting the attackers who are still holed up inside.
