GAROWE, Somalia, July 18, 2015 (Garowe Online)-Despite visiting delegations led by Somalia Prime Minister and Jubaland President, Puntland leader has jetted off to Nairobi on Saturday, Garowe Online reports.

A press statement from the presidency said, Puntland President’s trip to Kenya relates to the strengthening of ties.

“God willing, I wish to conclude this trip with success. I tell Puntland people to keep vigil on their security, progress and common good,” Ali told journalists at Garowe airport before departing for Nairobi.

Continuing, he added: “At the present time and over the last few days, Somalia Federal Government Prime Minister, Omar Abdirashid Ali and Jubaland Government President, Ahmed Mohamed Islam have been here. Our discussions bore fruits,”.

President’s surprise departure comes on the onset of mediation efforts to ease deadlock over striking soldiers by Prime Minister Sharmarke and Jubaland leader.

Former Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Police Force, Gen. Mohiyadin Ahmed Musse and former Intelligence Chief Abdi Hassan Hussein were last week met with welcoming rallies in Garowe outskirts as part of endeavor to bring about deal between Puntland Presidency and troops who went out on strike over missing rights.

The dispute has been dragging on for months and has subsequently induced third party.
