U.N. envoy to Somalia to be replaced

GAROWE, Somalia, November 18, 2015 (Garowe Online)-United Nations envoy to Somalia, Ambassador Nicholas Kay has been replaced with unnamed British successor, diplomatic sources told Garowe Online.

Ambassador Kay was appointed to the post by U.N. Chief Ban Ki-moon on April 29, 2013 and took over from his predecessor, Augustine Mahiga in June.

Sources who asked to remain anonymous told GO that another British diplomat is likely to succeed Kay on the post.

Outgoing UN envoy is preparing for regional trips before officially vacating office.

Puntland President, Abdiweli Mohamed Ali is hosting dinner for Kay at the State House this evening.
