BORAMA, Somalia, July 2, 2015 (Garowe Online)-Somaliland police forces have arrested federal Member of Parliament in Awdal regional capital of Borama on Thursday, Garowe Online reports.

The authorities detained MP Ahmed Hussein Hassan (Sitin) for illegally entering breakaway Somaliland region according to Awdal Governor Mohamud Ali Saleban Rabah.

“Somalia and Somaliland are two separate countries, before arriving in Somaliland the [Somalia] MP would have asked for pardon,” Rabah said, adding that Somaliland natives serving posts in the Federal government are gluttonous.

The arrest of MP sitin marks the second in the year, 2015.

The separatist administration pre-conditioned many officials hailing from the region to come to amnesty in advance.

Somaliland, located in northwestern Somalia declared its independence from the rest of the country as de facto sovereign state in 1991 but it has not been recognized internationally yet.
