MOGADISHU, Somalia Sept 7, 2014 (Garowe Online)-Federal Government of Somalia’s Council of ministers fired National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) Chief Abdullahi Mohamed Ali (Sanbaloshe) in extraordinary cabinet meeting on Sunday, Garowe Online reports.

Somali Government official who spoke to GO on condition of anonymity said, the cabinet voted Ali out of office following official complaints lodged with Somalia Prime Minister Abdiweli Sheikh Ahmed Mohamed by Hawiye clan elders that Intelligence Chief belongs to.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has sacked Sanbaloshe’s predecessor Gen. Bashir Mohamed Jama (Goobe) over security lapse in July.

The beleaguered Somali militant group, Al Shabaab honed terror activities largely in Mogadishu, targeting officials and foreigners in planned assassinations, suicide bombings and apparently coordinated military-style ambushes.
