Somalia: Qur’an teacher shot dead in Beledweyne

BELEDWEYNE, Somalia, March 17, 2015 (Garowe Online)-Two masked gunmen shot and killed Qur’an teacher in the central Somali town of Beledweyne overnight on Monday according to officials, Garowe Online reports.

The Qur’an teacher was on his way home from a mosque when men armed with pistols approached him and fatally gunned him down in Beledweyne’s Hawo Tako neighborhood.

The assailants are said to have escaped from the scene of the attack shortly after the shooting.

Security forces have captured three suspects in dawn operation in the neighborhood where the killing occurred.

In February, renowned businessman, Haji Omar Qurow was shot dead in similar assassination.
