​Explosions hit Kenya’s Defense forces in Somalia-Kenya borders

Mandera, Kenya – Two landmine explosions has targeted Kenya’s Defense forces in area between Somalia-Kenya border on Friday, Garowe online reports.

The explosions occurred in areas between Beled Hawo and Mandera in northern Kenya. Local resident in Beled Hawo, has confirmed to GO the attacks targeting KDF.

“There were two explosions against KDF conducting security patrol near Somalia border and so far no information about the causalities of the attack is being reported” he said.

No group has claimed responsibility of the attack but Al Shabab militants group has staged frequent raids across the border in the neighboring Kenya’s northern region. Al Shabab group attacks in Kenya have intensified since the invasion of KDF in Southern Somalia in October 2011, the militants group has called Kenya to withdraw its troops from Somalia.
