Farole, Ethiopian FM meet in Puntland

GAROWE, Somalia-Ethiopian Foreign Affairs Minister Dr Tedros Adhanom has wrapped up his stay in Puntland with a meeting with former President and Somalia Presidential Candidate Abdirahman Mohamed Farole on Monday, Garowe Online reports. 

The discussion between the two men, which mainly centered on consolidation of Somali peace process and deal reached on election model overnight on Sunday, took place at Ethiopia consulate in the State capital of Garowe.  

Farole and Adhanom exchanged their views on the agreement signed between Mogadishu and Garowe as well as how best Somalia could hold fair and transparent elections.  

Emphasizing his fight against 4.5 quota for life, Farole expressed his reservations over the agreement guaranteed by Adhanom as the Chairperson of IGAD Council of Ministers. 

On his side, Dr Adhanom praised Farole for his unwavering role in national endeavors that finally spurred on hope in Somalia. Wishing him a better future over the course of meeting, Ethiopian Foreign Affairs Minister voiced commendation at respect earned by Farole among Puntland people.  

The discussion coincides with the launch of Farole’s presidential bid in upcoming national poll by Monday.
