Somalia: Puntland Interior Ministry relocates to new premises

GAROWE, Somalia-Puntland Vice President Abdihakin Abdullahi Haji Omar has inaugurated new premises for Interior, Local Governments and Rural Development Ministry during a ribbon-cutting ceremony in the State capital of Garowe on Wednesday, Garowe Online reports. 

Youth clad in traditional Somali clothes greeted Omar and his entourage with folk dance in front of new building. 

In attendance at the event held for the ministry complex were Minister of Interior Ahmed ElmiOsman and staff. 

Osman expressed his happiness with the premises of ministry, saying more effort has been concerted for offices to be relocated. Puntland Vice President called the inauguration a historic since he personally laid foundation stone for the new building ten months ago. 

Event speakers welcomed the progress, and asked the government to speed up infrastructure initiatives.
