Somalia: Puntland VP lays foundation stone of Eyl-Dangorayo road project

DANGORAYO, Somalia, October 5, 2015 (Garowe Online)-Puntland Vice President, Abdihakin Abdullahi Haji Omar has laid foundation for the construction of paved road that would connect historic Eyl town to proximate Dangorayo on Monday, Garowe Online reports.

Fifty percent of the construction cost will be covered by a relief network headed by Adan Mohamed Isse, while the rest will go to locals.

Residents, mainly nomadic families lined along the road alignment welcomed the construction of Eyl-Dangorayo road.

Vice President Omar has not hinted at any contributions by the government to the road project.

Committee has been named in a bid to collect money in donations from local families and thriving businesses.
