Somalia: Warm welcome for Jubaland, Southwest state leaders in Puntland

GAROWE, Somalia, April 29, 2015 (Garowe Online)-The Presidents of Somalia’s Jubaland and Southwest state administrations on Wednesday arrived to warm welcome in Puntland capital of Garowe in advance of meeting on the country’s frame work for action, Garowe Online reports.

Puntland leader Abdiweli Mohamed Ali Gaas, Vice President Abdihakin Abdullahi Haji Omar, Parliament Speaker Saed Hassan Shire, cabinet ministers, parliamentarians and banner-waving crowds welcomed the two presidents Sheikh Ahmed Mohamed Islam (Madobe) and Sharif Hassan Sheikh Adan at Garowe airport.

Addressing media members at Puntland State House, President Gaas expressed his delight with the arrival of Jubaland and Southwest state leaders in Garowe.

Madobe and Aden thanked for the welcoming rallies accorded to them, and unveiled that they have come to Garowe for conference on vision 2016.

Jubaland leader previously arrived in Puntland. Nevertheless the visit to Puntland by Adan marks the first since being elected to Southwest state presidency in late 2014.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud landed in Garowe on Tuesday. Ever since he has been holding talks with Puntland leadership and traditional leaders on central state formation, amongst others.
