​Somalia: Dignitaries arrive Adado ahead of Galmudug President's inauguration

ADADO, Somalia- The new president of the Galmudug state, Ahmed Dualle Geelle "Haaf" is scheduled to be inaugurated in Adado town on Monday following his election on May 3, Garowe Online reports.

Leaders of Puntland, Jubbaland, Hirshabelle, Southwest states and the President of the Somali Federal government Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo are set to attend the ceremony which will kick star later today.

Early in the morning, Presidents of Puntland and Jubbaland Abdiweli Mohamed Ali "Gaas" and Ahmed Islam "Madobe" were reported to have arrived to Adado for the inauguration.

The UN and AU special envoys for Somalia Michael Keating and Francisco Madeira respectively are among the diplomats landed in Adado this morning, and welcomed by President Haaf.

The Minister of Interior Affairs of Somalia Abdi Farah Saeed "Juha" and a delegate he was leading also reached the town, paving the way for the invited officials from the Federal government, including President Farmajo.

The Security has been tightened and officers from Galmudug and National Army (SNA) forces, consisting of Police and NISA could be seen patrolling the streets to ward off any attempted by al-Shabaab.

President Haaf who was elected early this month by Galmudug state MPs in Adado is facing daunting tasks, including the unification of the region and deal to end rift with rival Ahlu Sunna that controls large major towns in central Somalia.
