MOGADISHU, Somalia — President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is scheduled to host a high-level briefing today at the Presidential Palace with members of the international diplomatic community based in Mogadishu’s secure Halane compound.

Sources in the capital informed the media that the president intends to provide the envoys with a comprehensive update on the country's current security and political situation. Central to the discussions is expected to be a formal complaint regarding the Ethiopian government’s regional activities.

President Mohamud is reportedly set to voice concerns over Addis Ababa’s continued engagement with the Somaliland administration and its perceived support for Southwest State President Abdiaziz Laftagareen. Mogadishu has increasingly viewed these actions as an interference in its internal affairs and a challenge to Somalia’s federal sovereignty.

The meeting comes at a time of heightened regional friction, as the Somali federal government seeks to consolidate international backing for its stance on territorial integrity and its roadmap for national stability.
