KISMAYO, Somalia, August 22, 2015 (Garowe Online)-A suicide car bomb has killed at least 13 soldiers at a military in the southern Somali port city of Kismayo, officials said Saturday.

The bomber has driven a car laden with explosives into military training camp where cadets from the Kismayo-based Jubbaland
administration and Somali government were undergoing a training to oust militants from the region.

Witnesses described chaotic scenes with blood running like a ‘river’ as the bomber who was reported to be a former al-shabab defector has detonated the car bomb inside the camp.

“This carnage happened just because the bomber had gained full access into the camp.” said Nur Yusuf, a military official in Kismayo.

The al-Qaeda linked Al-shabab group has claimed the responsibility for the bombing. The group still controls large swathes in Jubba regions where authorities believe the militants orchestrate from attack in and outside Somalia, including Kenya.
