Somalia: Violent protest rattles Borama after Ex-Mayor arrest
The angry crowds poured into the main roads, setting fire to tires and chanting anti ruling Kulmiye party slogans, local reporter told GO.
Addressing the media in Borama, the wife of former Mayor Kaltun Waberi Roble accused the security forces of violently launching raid on peaceful family: “Overnight on Sunday while in peaceful atmosphere, unknown soldiers broke into our house and violently captured my husband along with two children”.
Three reporters working for UK-based Somali channel, Universal TV and local television Bulsho were also seized for covering the protests.
