Somalia's President arrives in Addis Ababa in a state visit

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia- A delegate led by the President of Somalia's Federal government, Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed Farmajo, has arrived to Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia on Wednesday , Garowe Online reports.

Upon arrival to Bole International Airport, the delegate was cordially received by Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn, and other Ethiopian government officials.

Farmajo is scheduled to hold meetings with Ethiopian top leaders including the President Mulato Tshome and Prime Minister to discuss wide range of issues, mainly strengthening the relationship between the two countries, security and development.  

Relationship between the two countries was reported at low point recently following the presidential election last February.

Unlike previous Somali Presidents who paid their first state visit to Ethiopia, President Farmajo traveled to Saudi Arabia, Kenya, Jordan, UAE and Turkey before his current trip to Addis Ababa.

However, this comes ahead of London-conference on Somalia in UK, as international partners will participate to show support to the new Somali Federal government in areas of security, social services, development and drought relief.
