Ethiopia, U.S. agree to strengthen ties, says PM Abiy Ahmed

ADDIS ABABA - Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has met with U.S. Secretary of State Anthony J. Blinken, where they held in-depth discussions on various domestic, bilateral, and regional issues of mutual interest.

''We have agreed to strengthen the long-standing bilateral relations between Ethiopia and the U.S. with a commitment to partnership,'' said Abiy Ahmed.

Secretary of State Anthony J. Blinken has so far met with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Demeke Mekonnen, and the two discussed a wide range of matters spanning from the implementation of the cessation of hostilities agreement to Ethiopia’s economic situation and regional peace and security issues.
