Museveni “I have not read Kenya Kwanza’s manifesto or that of Azimio but I Know Ruto. I have met him a number of times in Uganda and I know he likes ideas and frank talking. In order for us to catch up with other global leaders, we must first create a market for our local products that will help us create wealth for ourselves. ”
He urged Ruto’s administration to prioritize the Integration of the East African market to realize development across the community.
“Trading among ourselves will be the greatest asset that we have and it will enhance our competitiveness across the globe hence will create jobs for our people and our economy will boom.” Comments Museveni.
The regional longest-serving president is a long-time friend of Dr. Ruto said he has met Kenya’s fifth president on several occasions and knows him as a practical person, adding that he is confident he will deliver.
He also further appealed to Africa’s political elite to utilize the continent’s vast mineral resources for the benefit of the people.

In 2021 Ruto made three private visits to Kampala last year. On one occasion, he traveled to Uganda on the invite of Museveni as chief guest during the official laying of the foundation stone for a vaccine manufacturing facility, but it was the private meetings thereafter that had senior government officials on high alert.
