Western Cape Police spokesperson Andre Traut said: “We can confirm the death of two worshipers and the suspect in the Mosque and a murder case has been opened by the police.”

It was earlier alleged that the suspect is from Somalia, however, the police said that at this stage they cannot confirm the nationality of the suspect.

Mosque attacks are becoming a norm in the country; recently another attack took place in Verulam, Durban, where three worshippers were slaughtered to death during the worship session.
