GAROWE, Somalia, June 13, 2015 (Garowe Online)-Puntland’s Minister for Justice Ismael Mohamed Warsame has resigned for unpaid salaries of Custodian Corps unit ahead of looming cabinet reshuffle on Saturday, Garowe Online reports.

Speaking at a press conference in the state capital of Garowe, Warsame said, he has been at odds with Puntland President, Abdiweli Mohamed Ali over long overdue salaries of disgruntled officers.

The resignation comes in the run-up to a reshuffle that spawned controversy between the President and his Vice President Abdihakin Abdullahi Haji Omar.

In mid-2014, electricity shortage put pirate complex and one of the largest prison facilities in the horn of Africa on the verge of closure.

On December 20, Puntland courts staff went on strike on account of pays withheld by the government.
