Somalia: Puntland President criticizes Galaydh for talks with Somaliland
GAROWE, Somalia-The President of Somalia’s Puntland Government Abdiweli Mohamed Ali has returned to the capital, Garowe following political talks in Mogadishu on Wednesday, Garowe Online reports.
Ali spoke to reporters at Puntland State House, discussing the outcome of National Leadership Forum (NLF), peace talks between self-declared Khaatumo administration and Somaliland and last night’s victory for Somali American activist Ilhan Omar.
Puntland Leader acknowledged that huge task lies ahead while hoping that change will happen on time.
On Khaatumo talks with Somaliland, Puntland leader blasted federal MP Ali Khalif Galaydh on Stockholm syndrome.
He noted that Galaydh lost consciousness, questioning his state in his first remarks on the latest developments in northern Sool region.
Galaydh earlier this week said, he was seeking to end protracted hostility with breakaway Somaliland.
Puntland President also congratulated first Somali-American legislator in the US Ilhan Omar for her historic victory in fiercely competitive DFL primary in a Minneapolis House district.
Ali left for Mogadishu for forum on timetable and electoral preparations for 2016 polls last week.
