Somalia: Puntland welcomes new PM’s appointment

GAROWE, Somalia Dec 18, 2014 (Garowe Online)-Puntland Government in northern Somalia has welcomed the appointment of Ambassador to the United States as new Prime Minister on Wednesday evening, Garowe Online reports.

In a press statement released to the media, Puntland said it is satisfied with every decision that serves the interests of Somali people: “While giving greater consideration to the stability and national politics of Somalia, Puntland regularly supports every plan that would cleanse the country of confusion and political infighting”.

The federal state in northeastern Somalia unveiled that it fully welcomes the premiership appointee.

Federal Government of Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud Wednesday named Omar Abdirashid Ali Sharmarke as new Prime Minister.

Former Puntland President Dr. Abdirahman Farole sent a congratulatory message to Sharmarke, saying the tasks ahead for the new head of government are mammoth.
