Premier Bank announces biggest discount on MasterCard issuance

MOGADISHU, Somalia - Premier Bank has announced a discount for new customers on the issuance of Mastercard over the Holy month of Ramadan and the Eid festive season. The 70% discount allows new clients to obtain the valuable card for as little as $3, making it the highest discount on Mastercard issuance in Somalia.

During this promotional period, the bank has added more locations where people can register and pick up their cards, including public spaces, to make it more accessible to people. Customers can also pick up their cards at any of the bank's locations across the country.

Throughout this promotional phase, the Mastercard acquisition process has been accelerated through the “get your card instantly” initiative, allowing customers to receive their Mastercard in less than 30 minutes.

According to Ahmed Nor Mohamed, the Bank's Head of Public Relations, the main reason for the bank's decision to offer the discount was to improve the economic status and livelihood of the society. "We intended to contribute to efforts to raise our society's living standards so that it can compete with the rest of the world for modern banking services," he explained.

The use of Mastercard has been an instrumental component in the last six years in terms of improving economic conditions and facilitating the easy withdrawal of cash from ATM points within and outside the country, as well as online purchases and online fee payments. The Mastercard services have helped people connect with the rest of the world.
