BELEDWEYNE, Somalia-Federal Government of Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has arrived in Hiran regional capital of Beledweyne on Thursday on second visit in months, Garowe Online reports.

Mohamud aims to bring about understanding among Hiran and Middle Shabelle clan elders after disputes brought state formation convention in Jowhar to halt.

Presidential sources indicate that the President is slated for meetings with community and traditional leaders in Beledweyne.

Hiran clan elders pulled out of Jowhar convention in reaction at nominees announced by Interior Ministry for the selection of delegates.

Locals have not agreed to government allocation, prompting for Mohamud to give further pushes to the state formation convention.

Ministers and Members of Parliament failed to ease the deadlock on trip to Beledweyne over two weeks ago.

Mohamud officially opened Hiran-Middle Shabelle state formation convention in Jowhar on Jan. 12.
