Somalia: Drought, outbreak ravage Sanag

BARAN, Somalia, January 12, 2016 (Garowe Online)-Severe water shortage and long running famine have left hundreds of pastoral households more destitute in northeastern Sanag region, official told Garowe Online on Tuesday.
The mayor of Sanag regional capital of Baran Abdirizak Ahmed told GO that hundreds, mostly pastoral communities are now at risk for ravaging drought.
He said that a small water truck costs nomads four heads of livestock, something valuing at souring USD 200.
In outcry, he asked Puntland government and International aid agencies to step in for the worsening humanitarian situation in the region.
Several outbreaks because of dwindling water sources have affected nomadic families.
