Somalia ex-Premiers on visit to Puntland

GAROWE, Somalia, January 4, 2016 (Garowe Online)-Former Somalia Prime Ministers Ali Mohamed Geddi and Abdiweli Sheikh Ahmed have arrived to warm welcome in Puntland capital of Garowe on Monday, Garowe Online reports.

Puntland President Abdiweli Mohamed Ali has received the two at the State House, conversing with Geddi and Ahmed on a number of issues regarding the latest political developments in the country.

Ex-Prime Ministers are scheduled to attend a ribbon cutting ceremony planned for Bossaso international airport on 8th of January.

Prominent Somali politicians have arrived at official invitation as part of nation-wide regional tour.

Ahmed was ousted in controversial parliamentary no-confidence vote in December 2014 following a long running row over constitution with President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.

He now heads Forum for Unity and Democracy, a large coalition of political actors and civil society.
