JOWHAR, Somalia- State Parliament for the newly established Hirshabelle interim administration, has extended the period for the President, Ali Abdualhi Osoble to appoint new ministers for the administration, Garowe Online reports.

During a parliament session in Jowhar town, Hirshabelle MPs have unanimously voted for the extension, which was requested by President Osoble, despite failing previously to meet deadlines to form the ministerial council in the past 3 months.

Hirshabelle state was established in last September and was the most controversial and extended process to form a regional administration in Somalia.

According to sources, the President will have a period of two months to name the cabinet ministers.

However, the President was reported to be politically involved in the Lower and Upper elections in Jowhar town, and is believed he is backing the presidential campaign of caretaker President Hasan Shaikh Mahmoud.

Osoble is among other state leaders who visited Ethiopia on Friday, amid reports of deadlock in the ongoing National Leadership Forum conference in the Somali capital of Mogadishu over the remaining electoral process.
