Somalia President sacks Mogadishu Mayor

MOGADISHU, Somalia, October 26, 2015 (Garowe Online)-Banadir Governor and the mayor of Mogadishu, Hassan Mohamed Hussein (Mungab) has been sacked from the job according to presidential spokesman, Daud Aweys, Garowe Online reports.

Aweys Monday said that President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud replaced Mungab with political newcomer Yusuf Hussein Jimale.

No details have emerged of the firing of Mogadishu mayor as of yet.

Some sources have hinted that Mungab might have been mired in impasse with federal ministers.
