MOGADISHU, Somalia — Somali federal authorities have deployed security units to the Mogadishu residence of the recently ousted chief of the Custodial Corps, Gen. Mahad Abdirahman Aden, widely known as "Shub."

According to reports confirmed by Garowe Online, units from the Somali Police Force were stationed outside the General's home shortly after the Council of Ministers announced his removal from office on Wednesday.

In addition to the perimeter security, the government has officially withdrawn Gen. Mahad’s personal security detail from the Custodial Corps.

The move is seen as a measure to monitor and restrict the General’s movements following his dismissal, which was reportedly triggered by his political alignment with South West State President Abdiaziz Laftagareen.

The Somali government has not officially commented on the deployment, though security analysts suggest it is a preemptive measure to ensure a smooth transition of power to the newly appointed chief, Maj. Gen. Mohamed Sheikh Hassan Hamud.
