​Somalia: Suicide car bombing kills 4 in Mogadishu

MOGADISHU, Somalia - At least four people are confirmed dead and seven others were wounded in suicide car bomb attack in the Somali capital of Mogadishu on Sunday night, Garowe Online reports.

Confirming the incident, Somali security ministry spokesman Abdi Kamil Mo'alin Shukri said the car bomb was targeted to hit an army convoy while moving near Daljirka Dahson vicinity in the capital. He said four people including the bomber died in the attack, while 7 other people have sustained injures from the blast.

Following the attack Al Qaida linked Al Shabaab group has claimed the responsibility for the car bombing in the capital. 

The security situation of Mogadishu seems to be worsening in the past period amid preparation to hold parliamentary and presidential elections in the coming weeks.

Al Shabaab group leaders have vowed to disrupt the elections and intensified its attacks against security forces and AMISOM troops in Southern Somalia.
