BERBERA, Somaliland - The three main Political parties in Somaliland have intensified their campaigns ahead of the presidential and general elections slated for November 13 poll, Garowe Online reports.

Thousands of Kulmiye, the ruling party supporters held the 4th campaign rally in the port city of Berbera, the regional capital of Sahil region on Tuesday, showing up in their party’s muscle as polls time closes in.

Muse Bihi Abdi, Kulmiye's Presidential Candidate, along with Professor Ahmed Ismail Samatar, well-known politicians, state parliamentarians, regional and district officials have participated in the turn-out.

Abdi has addressed the rally at freedom park in the seaside city, where a huge crowd, wearing the party's colors has been waiting for him during the early hours of the day. He urged the people to vote for Kulmiye second term in office.

During his speech, Muse accused his rival aspirant from WADDANI party and former Somaliland's House of Representatives speaker, Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi "Irro" of against Berbera port project.

The Somaliland National Electoral Commission (NEC), Muslim clerics, traditional elders and outgoing Somaliland leaders warned the Presidential runners vying for the top seat against clan-based politics, which they said a threat to the region’s fragile democracy.
