​Somalia: Worshipers flock to rain prayers across Somaliland

HARGEISA, Somalia- Somaliland President, Ahmed Mohamed Silanyo, has joined hundreds of worshipers in the capital, Hargeisa on Wednesday, Garowe Online reports. 

Religious Affairs Minister Sheikh Khalil Abdullahi Ahmed has led the rain-seeking prayers performed throughout Somaliland.

The prayer for rain—that attracted hundreds-- was held on the grounds of football stadium.

Sheikh Ahmed called on worshipers to exercise repentance and pray to Allah for forgiveness in these difficult times.

Besides, the President himself supplicated for rainfall.

Worst drought crisis in recent memory has claimed at killed eight pastoralists in western Somaliland regions.

Pastoral and agro-pastoral sectors contribute major share to Somaliland economy like the rest of the East African country.
