Somaliland sacks Immigration Commander

HARGEISA, Somaliland-Somaliland government in northwestern Somalia has issued firing to Immigration and Naturalization Commander Mohamed Ali Yusuf (Ambaro), Garowe Online reports.

Interior Minister Ali Mohamed Waran-Adde has replaced Ambaro with Mohamed Osman Alin who vacated the post in 2012.

The sacked commander has intensified deportation of people with illegal stay permits. 

Though the decree has not been presented to the media, government sources confirmed the firing to GO.

Somaliland, located in northwestern Somalia declared its independence from the rest of the country as de facto sovereign state in 1991 but it has not been recognized internationally yet.
