Somalia: Executions by Al Shabaab in Barawe Coastal Town

BARAWE, Somalia Sept 30, 2014 (Garowe Online)-Somalia’s Al Qaeda linked Al Shabaab Group executed four alleged Somalia Federal Government spies in Barawe coastal town of southern Somalia on Sunday afternoon, Garowe Online reports.

The four men-Mahad Hassan Isse, 26, Hassan Haji Aayow, 27, Idle Mohamed Hassan, 18 and Ahmed Mohamed Adan-who were allegedly convicted of being spies were publicly executed with Al Shabaab’s representative to Lower Shabelle region Mohamed Abu Abdalla present.

Last Friday, Al Shabaab stoned Safiyo Ahmed Jim’alle, 33 and mother of three to death after charges of adultery.

Barawe, the largest bastion acquiesced to austere rule of Somali militant group has been a a spot for amputations, flogging and other executions.
