Allied forces clash with militants in central Somalia

GALGADUD, Somalia-Somali government forces aided by African Union peacekeepers have killed seven Al Shabaab militants in heavy clashes in central Galgadud region, officials said on Wednesday.

The allied forces inflicted the losses on militants in heavy fighting that occurred in El Hareriaccording to Somalia’s Jowhar media.  

Somali National Army (SNA) officials said, the fierce clashes erupted between squeezing troops and militants.  

Al Shabaab claimed that it killed Somali government soldiers in ensuing fighting.  

The raid on El Hareri is part of intensified offensives jointly spearheaded by Somali forces and Ethiopian-AMISOM peacekeepers in central Somalia.
