Clan elder gunned down in central Somalia

BELEDWEYNE, Somalia, June 23, 2015 (Garowe Online)-Two masked gunmen shot and killed the second clan elder since the beginning of Ramadan in central Somalia town of Beledweyne prior to dusk prayers on Monday, Garowe Online reports.

Late Hassan Adan Dekow (Hassan Og) was shot dead while entering home according to witnesses.

The attackers fled right away after the shooting, witnesses told Garowe Online.

Security forces arrested two suspects in connection with the killing of Hiran clan elder.

Two days ago, unidentified assailants killed elder Mumin Bari Adde in Beledweyne’s Koshin neighborhood.

Al Qaeda linked Al Shabaab group pledged that it would step up rampages during the dawn-to-dusk fasting month of Ramadan.
