KISMAYO, Somalia, August 22, 2015 (Garowe Online)-At least fifteen Jubaland soldiers and a Kenyan peacekeeper were killed after Al Shabaab suicide bomber ripped through a training camp in the southern port city of Kismayo, military sources have confirmed to Garowe Online.

Medics are also disclosing that 30 others including three African Union military advisors were wounded in the deadliest blast to be reported since Jubaland formation in May 2013.

Somalia’s beleaguered Al Shabaab group was quick to shoulder responsibility for the apparently coordinated terror attack.

Residents saw plumes of black smoke billowing from the training site after right-hand drive vehicle, Toyota Noah broke into the fortified compound.

Jubaland forces alongside African Union peacekeepers have driven militants out of strategic springboards.

Al Shabaab suffered a series of blistering operational losses on the frontline as Somali National Army (SNA) and African Union forces are consolidating gains in central and southern Somalia.
