MOGADISHU, Somalia-Federal Government of Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has arrived in the German City of Munich for key Security Conference on Saturday, Garowe Online reports.

Mohamud has departed Mogadishu due to matters relating to his health, and is seeking medical examination to be conducted by German doctors.

According to a press statement from his office, Munich Security Conference will be attended by 30 leaders worldwide and 70 foreign affairs and defence ministers.

The summit is focused on security situation in Sub-Saharan Africa including Somalia, Europe’s response to flood of refugees, Syria war and parrying global viruses.

UK Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs Phillip Hammond tweeted that UK supports the East African country with security capacity building and its progress to stable electoral process for 2016.

Mohamud on his side welcomed Hammond’s announcement at Munich Security Conference.

Mohamud has suspended all his schedules at the Presidential compound before leaving for Germany in a move attributed to his allegedly deteriorating health situation.

Meanwhile in Mogadishu, Somali President named two Ambassadors for neighboring Ethiopia and Turkey.  Former Hiran Governor Abdifatah Hassan Afrah has been appointed as envoy to Ethiopia while Mohamed Haji Maderbecame Ambassador to Turkey.

Afrah was sacked from the governorship after accused of being responsible for deadly confrontations.

Mader is the brother of Southwest State President Sharif Hassan Sheikh Adan on mother kinship.

Both nominations drew anger from Prime Minister Omar Abdirashid Ali Sharmarke and Parliament Speaker Mohamed Sheikh Osman Jawari who have been engaging in tete-a-tete.

Political analysts say, Mader’s appointment as Ambassador to Turkey could immensely appease Adan in exchange for his support for 4.5 power sharing formula.
