MOGADISHU, Somalia, June 24, 2015 (Garowe Online)- Somali security officials say a suicide car bomber has killed three civilians and wounded another five in a botched attempt to hit a convoy carrying foreign officials on Wednesday.

The bomber missed the convoy, which suffered no damage. The attack took place near the Turkish embassy in Mogadishu.

The car bomber is reported to have sped behind the convoy, however, he instead rammed into nearby pedestrians.

The Al-Qaeda linked Al-shabab group claimed the responsibility for the attack.
