Somalia: Farmajo to discuss diplomatic presence, stability of the Horn and regional economic integration with H.E Afwerki

Asmara- The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia H.E Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo and his delegation received a warm welcome on his historic visit to Asmara, Eritrea.

The president is on an official three day visit to Eritrea where he would lead talks on economic integration of the region and stability of the Horn

The president is keen on regional cooperation and is leading efforts to ensure Somalia is at the forefront towards stronger regional integration to foster trade and usher in a new phase of prosperity for all.

To promote bilateral ties and strengthen multilateral and economic cooperation, the president’s visit would pave the way for Somalia’s full diplomatic presence in Asmara.

Eritrea would equally have a diplomatic mission in Mogadishu.

Upon arrival at the Asmara International Airport President Farmaajo was welcomed by his counterpart H.E. Esaias Afwerki, the President of Eritrea and his entire Cabinet.

Their Excellences, Presidents Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed Farmaajo and Asaias Afwerki had lunch at the State House where they kicked off their meeting to discuss Somali-Eritrea relations.
