Somalia: Suicide bombing hits military checkpoint in Bosaso city

BOSASO, Puntland- A suicide explosion was reported has hit Bosaso city, the commercial city of Puntland region on Tuesday, killing one person and wounding others, Garowe Online reports.

A suspected militant blew himself up at a military checkpoint near the popular Juba Hotel today's evening, said an eyewitness.

Ambulances rushed to the scene and transported the wounded to the nearby hospitals.

Reports said 1 soldier is dead while 2 others have sustained serious injuries from the blast. Death toll could rise up due to the serious wounded cases.

This attack is the latest of series of terrorist attacks in Bosaso and Galkayo in the past months.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack against the military checkpoint.
