Hormuud Salaam Foundation Offers Vital Support to Vulnerable People on the Second Day of Its Annual Iftar Program

Mogadishu, Somalia – March 13, 2024 – The Hormuud Salaam Foundation has continued to make a significant impact on the lives of the needy through its Annual Iftar Program. On its second day, the Foundation further extended its compassionate efforts, supporting around 400 deserving people during the holy month of Ramadan. This initiative has reached out to over 7,000 individuals across various vulnerable groups.

Today, Hormuud Salaam Foundation has provided crucial financial assistance and vital dry food supplies to over 300 women, including those in prisons and suffering from mental illnesses, affiliated with Save Somali Women and Children (SSWC).

Abdullahi Nur Osman, the CEO of Hormuud Salaam Foundation, emphasized the organization's commitment, stating, 'Our Annual Iftar Program reflects our unwavering commitment to the well-being of our community. We are dedicated to providing support where it's most needed, ensuring that the holy month of Ramadan brings not just spiritual solace but also material relief to the less fortunate in our society.'

Amina Haji Elmi, the Director of Save Somali Women and Children (SSWC), praised the Foundation's efforts, 'The invaluable support we received today from Hormuud Salaam Foundation significantly uplifts the spirits and living conditions of many struggling families. Subsequently, in a following event, the Foundation extended its generosity to around 100 needy and disabled individuals associated with the Somali Women Development Center (SWDC). This benevolent act is a part of the 12th Annual Iftar Program, which started yesterday with the provision of financial help to over 120 deserving women in the Banadir Region Women Organization.

Maryan Taqal, the Executive Director of the Somali Women Development Center (SWDC), noted, 'This assistance from the Foundation is not just about financial aid; it's about strengthening the fabric of our society and offering a lifeline to those who are most vulnerable.'
