Somalia: Five killed in Mogadishu car bomb attack

MOGADISHU, Somalia-A suicide bomber rammed his car packed full of explosives into al-Hinda restaurant behind Mogadishu municipality, killing five and wounding seven others on Monday, Garowe Online reports.

Banadir regional administration spokesman Abdifatah Omar Halane has confirmed the casualties, saying all victims were civilians.

“The blast has killed five people and left seven others wounded. The aim was at people in the restaurant,” he added.

By the weekend, Al Shabaab suicide bomber targeted another restaurant in Mogadishu’s Shibis district.

The militants honed suicide attacks following a string of losses on the frontline in central and southern Somalia.
