​Somalia: Galmudug President opens 5th session of state Parliament

ADADO, Somalia- Galmudug President Ahmed Dualle Geelle has officially opened 5th session of Galmudug state Parliament, after the MPs returned from the annual two-month vocation, Garowe Online reports.

The Vice President of Galmudug administration Mohamed Abdi Hashi "Arabey" was among the officials participated at the opening of the parliamentary session held on Saturday in Adado town.

During his speech at the opening ceremony in the Parliament hall in Adado , President Haaf has called the lawmakers to double up their legislative duties and help his administration fulfill its responsibilities to serve the people and overcome challenges.

Continuing, Haaf said he will soon appoint an inclusive cabinet Ministers before the end of the 75-day deadline given by the state assembly in last May. "Ahlu Sunna group will appear in the lineup," he said.

The security has been extremely tightened across the town by the local forces, to avert possible terror attack from the al-Qaida-affiliated al-Shabaab militants, according to Police sources.

After his inauguration inlast May, critics had been accusing the President of long absence from his office in Adado , and following the foot-step of his predecessor Abdikarim Hussein Guled, who resigned in last February over health grounds.

On Sunday, Galmudug President is traveling to Mogadishu, to attend a UN organized meeting on the humanitarian situation in the country, whereas thousands are still in dire need of help.
