​Somalia: Two killed, three wounded in IED blast near Mogadishu

MOGADISHU, Somalia- At least two civilians were killed, and three others wounded in a deadly roadside explosion on the outskirts of Somali capital Mogadishu on Sunday, Garowe Online reports.

Eyewitnesses said a remote-controlled bomb planted on a highway in Garasbaley area, about 9 kilometers west of Mogadishu has ripped through a passenger bus, killing two and wounding other three, including women.

The bomb was targeting a military convoy, traveling in the street, according to the witnesses.

The wounded have been taken to hospitals in Mogadishu for medical treatment by ambulances.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, but al-Shabaab militants have frequently targeted Somali and AMISOM military vehicles with landmines in the main road linking Mogadishu to Afgoye district and other parts of the country
